Director's Circles Art and Architecture Tour of Marrakech and Porto - September 20-28, 2010

For Delacroix and Matisse, it was the ochre-hued city against the brilliant blue sky; for George Orwell and Winston Churchill the medieval Islamic architecture and rugged mountainous landscape. These days, Marrakech is reinventing itself as North Africa’s lifestyle capital. Indeed, for the beautiful set from Julia Roberts and Naomi Campbell to Jude Law and Hugh Grant, a Marrakech home is now de rigueur.

Before fully immersing yourselves in the sights, sounds and smells of Morocco, you will visit Porto, Portugal’s second-largest city, which the New York Times recently described as "an impossibly picturesque town studded with contemporary architectural gems and graced with one of most beautiful museums of contemporary art in Europe."

In both cities, art historian and contemporary art expert Alard von Rohr-Demmin will be joined by local experts on private and exclusive tours through the best of art, architecture and local culture.
