VENUE: Park Grounds
This class introduces students to the two- and three-dimensional art forms from masks to murals. Through individual and group projects, students will learn about types of masks and their uses – from cultural traditions to dramatic uses – and create one from their own imagination. Drawing and painting techniques will be explored in both small- and large-scale artworks.
Explore plants, landscapes and the environment through art! Taking inspiration from Montalvo's Sculpture on the Grounds program, students will learn about 20th and 21st century land artists like Andy Goldsworthy and their environmental art installations. Then, find a way to voice your own eco-imagination, and transform the natural environment and found objects into great pieces of art.
