 nia premiere of David Benoit's new composition "Native Californian\," whic
 h was written while he was a fellow at the Lucas Artists Residency Program
 . Benoit will describe the composition from the stage during this exciting
  premiere performance.AAYO was founded in 2001 by Asia America Symphony Or
 chestra Music Director David Benoit to provide an opportunity for young mu
 sicians of all races and cultures to experience and learn to play in a pro
 fessional level ensemble. By performing musically demanding and diverse re
 pertoire\, students are challenged to master a wide variety of musical sty
 les - ranging from classical to jazz. Eligibility extends to qualified mus
 ic students up to age 18 who play any orchestral instrument and who are in
 terested in classical and jazz music.Under the leadership of conductor Dav
