 im O Brien is a Grammy Award-winning American\, country and bluegrass musi
 cian. As co-founder and lead vocalist of Hot Rize\, O'Brien served as a br
 idge between the traditional sounds-of-the-hill country and the modern sty
 les of bluegrass in the 1980s. Since the band's breakup\, O'Brien has cont
 inued to expand the music's borders as a soloist\, a duo partner with his 
 sister Mollie\, and with his band\, the O'Boys. In addition to singing\, h
 e plays guitar\, fiddle\, mandolin\, bouzouki and mandocello. To date\, he
  has released more than 10 studio albums and Billboard Magazine calls him 
  one of the spearheads of contemporary bluegrass.
