 pening/ ] An Opening Reception for our new exhibition\, Cease   Desist\, w
 ill be held on Friday\, January 28\, at 7pm in the Project Space Gallery.A
 s a component of Montalvo s 18-month thematic program Natural and Creative
  Capital\, which addresses the sustainability of our natural and cultural 
 environments\, Cease   Desist addresses issues around the repurposing and 
 recycling of materials that include an identifiable logo or trademark. The
  exhibition includes a site-specific installation by Los Angeles based art
 ist Carrie Ungerman that examines consumption behavior around drinking wat
 er\, while San Jose based artist Charlotte Kruk s traditional Spanish mata
 dor costumes made from candy wrappers celebrate the public s insatiable sw
 eet tooth and defies the power of the large candy corporation. Four works 
 by George Herms will also be on view\, on loan  from the Tobey C. Moss Gal
 lery in Los Angeles. Herms' work also  re-purposes materials and utilizes 
 found objects.Many
