Waters of the Earth explores the rich music, folklore and mythology of seafaring peoples from all over the globe through four separate tales. The performance includes audience participation in the tradition of Sea Chanteys, songs sung by working sailors on all kinds of ships.
Ever wonder why the tides go in and out? Raven and the Man Who Sits on the Tide, a creation myth from the Pacific Northwest Indians, has the answers.
An amalgamation of Inuit, Icelandic, Siberian and Celtic traditions, Sealskin Soulskin tells of a lonely man who steals the skin of a Selkie (a seal woman) so she will be his wife, and teaches that sometimes we must use our instincts to find our way back home.
From One Thousand and One Arabian Nights comes the classic adventure of Sinbad and the Valley of Diamonds who is once again stranded on a remote deserted island.
Dionysus and the Pirate Ship teaches that looks can be deceiving in this Greek tale of a demi-god kidnapped by pirates.
Directed by renowned movement theatre artist James Donlon, with masks and set by Lindsay Rust.
