VENUE: Project Space Gallery
An Opening Reception will be held in the Project Space Gallery for Rachel Sussman's new exhibition, The Oldest Living Things in the World.
Sussman's landscape-based photography is rooted in a subtle exploration of humanity's complex relationship with nature and, by extension, with itself. Sussman employs formal devices such as restricted color palates, careful consideration of the tensions between grounds, and selective use of lines and shapes to further the dialogue between aesthetics, content, and form. What results is a unique visual system, imbued with cultural, natural, and scientific context drawn from her travels all around the world.
Sussman will be appearing at the gallery to discuss her work in a special Artist Talk on Saturday, November 13 at 1pm.
Come early at 6pm and drop in to the Carriage House Theatre, where our you can see our FREE Final Fridays event, Paul Kikuchi & the Empty Cage Quartet!
