 on/ ] Ingram Marshall and Jim Bengston have worked together on two previou
 s performance projects. Marshall is a contemporary classical composer of "
 live electronics\," tape collages\, extended vocals and acoustic instrumen
 ts often scored in combination for solos\, ensembles and orchestras\, and 
 he teaches composition at Yale University. Bengston is a well respected la
 ndscape photographer. For their presentation\, a projection sequence synch
 ronizes Bengston s exquisite photographs with an electro-acoustic composit
 ion\, Alcatraz\, which was inspired by the famous Bay Area prison. Four ad
 ditional compositions for string quartet are performed this night by the a
 cclaimed Afiara String Quartet. Fog Tropes\, Evensongs part 1\, Eberbach (
 with projected images)\, and Evensongs part 2.  Both artists are also feat
 ured in John Adams' series\, Left Coast/West Coast\, presented this fall/w
 inter season under the auspices of Jacaranda Music\, the Los Angeles Maste
 r Chorale\, and the Los Angeles P
