"I never run my train off the track, and I never lost a passenger." ~Harriet Tubman
TheatreWorksUSA’s Freedom Train tells the thrilling story of Harriet Tubman, the Moses of her people. At age 25, Tubman made a perilous escape to the North. The route she followed soon became known as the Underground Railroad – and she became one of its most celebrated 'conductors,' guiding over 300 slaves on 19 secret trips to freedom.
A story of self-sacrifice and survival, Freedom Train is laced with warmth, historical music and a sense of humor that celebrates the human spirit – a universal story for all.
