Continuing their fascinating discussion of the "Late Beethoven" quartets, the Cypress turns its attention and virtuoso skills to the composer's String Quartet Op. 132 in A minor. Completed in July 1825, this transcendent composition embodies the range of turmoil and emotion experienced by an aging composer struggling with ill health, loneliness, financial loss, and most profoundly, deafness. Members enjoy an informal reception after the concert.
