CYPRESS STRING QUARTET: FEATURING BEETHOVEN STRING QUARTET OP. 130 IN B-FLAT MAJOR

Sun, May 4th 2008, 3 p.m.

VENUE: Historic Villa

Compassionate. The Cypress String Quartet's "Late Beethoven" series comes to an exciting conclusion with the quartet the composer himself called "Liebquartett" ("Dear Quartet"). This work is unusual among string quartets in that it is written in six movements, including an extra dance and slow movement that have become some of Beethoven's best known and most adored quartet segments: the Cavatina and the Alla danza tedesca.

Members can enjoy a private reception after the concert in the Comerica Griffin Room.
