"From the Artists Studio" takes a provocative look at the darker side of the Season through this Cypress performance of Bela Bartok's brooding String Quartet #6 interwoven with live spoken word from gritty San Francisco fiction writer Peter Plate and Robert Mailer Anderson, among others. Quartet #6, Bartok's last, was composed in 1939 and reflects the composer's anguish as he watched the rise of fascism and Nazism in the build up to World War II. Members enjoy an informal reception after the concert.
